How It Works

What SRT is —and what it isn't

An honest look at the method I use, what happens in a session, and where its limits are.

What is SRT?

Spiritual Response Therapy was developed by Robert Detzler in the 1980s. It's a spiritual practice that works with the idea that our soul carries records — of this life, of our family line and of earlier experiences — and that some of those records keep running as programs long after they stopped serving us.

What people come to SRT for

The Spiritual Response Association, which teaches the method, describes its aim simply: to help remove the blocks that keep you from living a happier, freer life.

People most often come with:

  • the same dynamic repeating in relationships
  • fears that feel older than the situation
  • feeling stuck, no matter what they try
  • beliefs about love, money or self-worth that hold them back
  • self-sabotage and being hard on themselves
  • patterns they recognize from their family

What they most often describe afterwards: lightness, clarity, and more inner peace.

What I look for

These are the four kinds of patterns I look for in a session. They often run quietly underneath — until they're found and cleared.

What happens in a session

A simple process. Done with care.

  1. I read your form

I read your form and set a clear intention for the session.

  2. I ask permission

I ask permission of your Higher Self. Without permission, I don't proceed.

  3. I locate the pattern

Using a pendulum and the SRT charts, I locate where the pattern started and what is holding it in place.

  4. I clear and replace

I clear what's found and replace it with a supportive new pattern.

  5. You receive your report

I write your report: what I found, what was cleared, and what to notice in the next three weeks.

Why patterns repeat

A frame, not proof.

Research on stress, the nervous system and epigenetics suggests that experiences can shape how our body reacts — and some studies explore whether this can pass between generations. This research doesn't prove SRT, and I don't claim it does. I mention it because it points to something many of us feel: some reactions are older than we are.

  • Nervous systemExperiences can shape how the body responds to stress.
  • EpigeneticsSome research explores whether experiences may influence gene expression, and whether this can pass between generations.
  • Patterns repeatSimilar reactions and themes can show up again and again, sometimes across a family.
  • Reactions formReactions can become automatic, even long after the original situation is over.

What SRT isn't

  • It isn't medicine.

It doesn't diagnose or treat any physical or mental health condition.

  • It isn't psychotherapy.

It isn't a replacement for a doctor, therapist or medication.

  • It isn't a diagnosis.

It isn't a test or a label for a condition.

  • It isn't a magic fix.

Clearing opens a door; you still walk through it.

What to expect

Everyone is different — but this is what people most often describe.

  1. Right after:

Many people feel lighter or calmer, sometimes without being able to explain why. Some feel a little tired or emotional at first. It usually passes within a day or two.

  2. In the first days:

Old triggers may pull less. Vivid dreams or old emotions can come up — that's often part of the process. If something stays, write to me.

  3. Over the next weeks:

The change is usually quiet: you react differently, choose differently, and notice the pattern before it runs you.

  4. With inherited family beliefs:

The deepest patterns are often family beliefs, passed down so long they feel like "just who we are". They have several layers and need several sessions over time. Sometimes the biggest change shows up months later, in a relationship you had stopped hoping for. See the Deep Transformation Protocol →

  5. What I can't promise:

Some notice a shift right away, for others it's gradual, and some notice less. That's why every clearing includes a free re-clearing within 14 days.

It helped me release so much and clear things I didn't even realize I was carrying… It changed me more than I expected. It felt natural, grounding, and just… right.

There was this constant restlessness inside me and I didn't know why. I described my feelings that kept repeating — and I felt such relief. Suddenly things started falling into place and making sense. Now I feel much calmer, lighter, and more at peace.
